Stuffed Like Turkeys

 photo image-7.jpg

I decided to try my hand at being a BzzAgent! What's that you ask? Well it's a site where you answer surveys & can qualify to take part in the testing & review of free products.  I received my first product from them & that is Iams Proactive Health MiniChunks.

I've had my bag of a Iams for a few days now & my dogs have been eyeing it. They do already eat Iams on a regular basis but they normally get the Naturals version. I switched my dogs to a Iams at the suggestion of my vet years ago. I never have a problem getting them to eat it & when they get the regular I think they just believe it's a treat cause they gobble it up!

I had a hard time getting them to sit still long enough to allow me to even get a picture of them with the bag. I actually tried to feed them their regular food today & they acted like they weren't hungry. I think they worked up a hunger when I pulled out this bag of mini chunks & they got their pose on. Look at Mogli (black dog on the right), she looks like she's salivating & Karma (white on the left) has her begging & pleading look going.

Iams is a great brand. The dogs are definitely full of energy, the Vet has nothing but good stuff to say regarding their health & the outdoor clean up is a lot less plentiful.... if you know what I mean. I would totally recommend Iams to any pet owner cause there have been no complaints from my current, or past, dogs.

After all the picture taking I finally dished the gals up some food to se if they wanted to eat & sure enough, gobble gobble. They made like turkeys & stuffed themselves.

Curvaceous Bombshell

While the blog title, Curvaceous Bombshell, may have had you thinking about some plump curves, I'm thinking it wasn't the plump curve of an eyelash that you pictured? Well that's what I'm talking about today here folks.

I'm part of the Influenster Nation and through them I'm provided the opportunity to try free products. How fun right? All I have to do in exchange is spread the word so others may go out and purchase said items in the future. Of course it's honest opinions they are looking for so in some cases it may prevent you from going out to buy them in the future. Anyways, the latest box of goodies I received was the SurfsUpVoxBox, which I will blog later about cause really this is separate from that.  You series, while some did receptive the Bombshell mascara, everyones box can differ so I wasn't one. Why am I reviewing and mentioning them you natty ask? Well because I heard about it from them and happened to find CoverGirl mascara on sale so why not?? So here are my thoughts:

 photo imagejpg1-1.jpg

My initial thought was that I loved the color and look of the product itself. It's fun and sassy, easy to toss in your purse or make part of your travel bag and it's appealing. What girl wouldn't want to know what it is and what to try it herself, am I right?  The fact that I found a sale didn't hurt matters but to be honest, I was in the store fore it cause I wanted to give it a try... even at full price. So I made my purchase, got it home, checked it out & gave it a go.

The picture shows the before and after eye. There is definitely a difference in the lashes so that's a plus. Whether it be lighting or my iPhone camera skills the difference is there and the lashes are more prominent after the 1-2 step application. The first step simply applies the mascara with a curved brush and the 2nd brush is straight, plumper and meant to help with the curves. There is some curve, I didn't need to use a curling tool at all. Now I'm not the most steady, skilled hand at the art of cosmetic application so it probably doesn't look all that great here. Then again, that could just be my picture taking skills that I'm lacking in. It can get clumpy with the 2nd application so beware. With some use and practice I'm sure I'll get the same results that those of you with skills will probably get the first time you try it.  When removing it follow those directions cause it has some staying power fore sure! I had some good success with using coconut oil to remove it.

All in all it's a great product that I'll have some fun with, recommend and most likely buy again.

Undercover in the CEO's Bed

 photo 22054525.jpg

Lex has taken over the family company and quickly learns the business isn't doing so well. He soon learns that there is someone leaking information to the media that could cause the company to be put out of business and he suspects that it is a family member from within. There's a long history of family conflicts and that has made the man Lex is and has much to do with the reason he lost a woman that  he doesn't truly realize he misses.

Jacinta is an IT specialist who once did some work that put her in Lex's world for a short, yet unforgettable time. The 2 of them became an item and then the ties that bind sort of unbound them. Basically Lex did her a favor hiring on her brother and when things didn't go well she sort of expected her relationship with him to have some influence on how he handled things. When they didn't go as she expected she felt she needed to side with her brother and in turn lost Lex.

As the 2 pine for each other in their own way, Lex decides to hire on Jacinta once again to help him find out who is trying to bring down the family business. Being that he suspects that it's an actual family member, the plan is for the 2 of them to pretend as if they have rekindled their relationship. It doesn't take much to get the sparks going in that kindling and  soon they find it hard not to start believing that they are a couple once again.

Under the pretense of their fake relationship Lex and Jacinta learn about each other and what makes them the way they are. Something they didn't really take the time to do the first time around. Maybe this time they will find that there are actually ties there that can keep them bound.

Jaguar Hunt

 photo cover42244-small.png

An agent and a jaguar-shifter chase trouble, and each other, through the jungles of Belize Agent Tammy Anderson has a reputation: she prefers to work alone. So when she's paired up on a mission with jaguar-shifter David Patterson-who's only recently been released from jail-to say she's less than thrilled is a understatement. Until she realizes that this sexy agent has what it takes...

Soon, what started as an "easy" mission to locate a missing jaguar takes the pair to Belize, where they're chasing down two renegade teen shifters who know more than they're telling. As the action heats up, can they keep their minds on the job and off each other?

Excerpt

“Good night.” David closed his eyes, but he couldn’t stop taking in deep breaths of her jasmine soap and she-cat scent mixed into one delightful fragrance. He couldn’t ignore the beat of her heart - or his - that told him he was way too turned on, and that she was feeling the same way. He couldn’t help feeling the heat of her body and wanting to ratchet it up a few degrees, starting with a kiss.

A kiss. Hell, he’d never gone to bed with a woman when it meant total hands off. But lips...they didn’t count, did they?

She’d closed her eyes, but she wasn’t sleeping. She hadn’t pulled away from him, giving him her back. That meant something. Didn’t it?

He could ask. And she could say no.

He could kiss her, and when she got ready to slap him, he’d tell her it was a good-night kiss. And it would be. Unless she wanted more.

He could get lucky and she’d kiss him back.

Somehow it didn’t seem right to go to bed with a woman and not at least kiss her good night.

She opened her eyes to see him looking down at her - well, he was judging her lips, but when they curved up a bit, he lifted his gaze to meet her eyes and saw she was watching him.

“What?” she asked.

He couldn’t say it. David Patterson, who had no trouble interesting women in kisses and so much more, couldn’t say it.

“Don’t...tell...me. You want a good-night kiss,” she said, but he wasn’t certain whether she was offering or...not.

Not about to lose the opportunity, he placed his hand under her chin, lifted her face, and waited only the briefest period for her to pull away if she wasn’t in the mood for this. When she didn’t, he leaned down and kissed her mouth.

MY REVIEW

Tammy Anderson & David Patterson are paired up to hunt down a missing jaguar. Tammy much rather work on her own and even tries to ditch David however he's been waiting to get paired up with her & he's not too quick to give up. The 2 of them are attracted to one another from the start and as they hunt the missing jaguar and a couple of jaguar shifting teens, that attraction only grows. There's some suspense and mystery around the missing jaguar, why it's been stolen from the Circus and Zoo & who exactly is trying to keep Tammy & David from finding it. You're kept guessing on who is at the root of it and why, or who's trying to take out Tammy and why. It's a fun read that builds to an ending that is somewhat predictable but good none the less.

Changing the Game Plan

 photo 21516346-1.jpg

Trey Rood was a young, healthy high school athlete when he received the diagnosis of stage III melanoma, which progressed to stage IV in two short years. With a five-year survival rate of five percent, Trey and his mother Cherie refused to accept the poor odds given by doctors or that the aggressive cancer would prevent Trey from ever attending college. Instead, they chose to fight with everything they had. And fight they did. Their tireless search for treatment led them from home in Georgia, to Germany, and ultimately to Texas, where Trey was a pioneer participant at MD Anderson Cancer Center's adoptive T-cell therapy trial. With Trey's cancer now in remission, Trey, Cherie, and their family share their story here--a story of hope, encouragement, strength, and ultimately triumph. Their story of how, together, they beat cancer.

Armed with the will to live the normal life of a teenage boy who loves sports, especially football, Trey Rood handles dealing with cancer as if it were just another thing a teenager deals with as they grow up.... or at least that's how it seems in the way his story is told. Lord knows it's much more than that and to read his story you see that he definitely went through a lot to fight his cancer but he took each day as it came and never once doubted that in the end he'd beat it and as he did he'd also find his path in life.

The book gives you the story from the angle of Trey's parents, his brother, some friends and Trey himself. There is a little repetitiveness with that but it allows you see how each of them view the situation and how this family, and their friends, were bound and determined to win the fight for Trey. There is of course a good dose of God sprinkled in throughout, a little heavier as things move on, but that is to be expected and it's not overpowering. It basically shows how their belief and trust in Him grew over time, aided in the choices they made and helped them handle it all in the manner they did.

This is definitely an inspiring read. Here we have a teenager that battled cancer throughout his last couple years of high school but never let it stop him from being a teenager and doing what he wanted, whenever possible. Trey wasn't one to use his cancer to gain any sympathy and later he used it to show others just what can happen when you have a positive attitude and belief that you will conquer. The disease wasn't one to give up easy and Trey, he proved that he wasn't going to give up either. The signs were all there for him and his family that he would make it through this and sure they still had some doubtful moments each time it appeared that the disease was getting ahead but Trey, he has something special and now he lives to share that with others.

This book is slated to be released in August, be on the lookout and pick up a copy for sure!  If you click on the book image above you'll be brought to Amazon where you can keep tabs on it's release.

His Billion Dollar Baby

 photo 22149110.jpg

I started this book right before Memorial Day weekend & found the subject matter, by Lea Nolan, rather fitting for that.  This was a great short read that had a little different spin than the books I've read as of late.

Gwen Radley is a Physical Therapy that had a one night fling with a former patient, Ben Anderson. There was a mutual attraction between the 2 but they knew that it wasn't something that would be more than casual, Ben was on his way back to fighting for his Country. While Ben was away Gwen discovers that she is pregnant and being a product of the Foster system she is determined to give her baby everything she missed out on growing up. Before she has a chance to give the news to Ben, she finds out that was killed in combat and now, rather than meeting up while he's home on leave, she's attending the funeral of her baby's daddy.  She wanted only to give him the news and expected nothing from him other than to be ok with her decision to keep the baby.

Carter Anderson, Ben's brother, runs the family business due to his father's stroke.  Work It Gear is a prominent fitness wear company created by Carter & Ben's dad, who was formally a well known football player. Carter hasn't been lucky in love and not only him but his family had to pay for a money grubbing woman that married him for all the wrong reasons. Things didn't end well so with the guilt of what that did to the family and the fact that Ben left to be in the military, he felt he needed to step up to be the one to learn the business. Now with his brother gone and his dad's condition not appearing to be getting any better and being burned by love, he feels he's destined to a life of a bachelor who plays his way through the women strictly for company.

Carter and Gwen meet at Ben's funeral and while she didn't want to let the baby news get out, it does. Carter isn't sure what to make of it or her and finds much conflict in the immediate attraction he had to her. His mother however is nothing but excited as the prospect of having a little piece of Ben live on and wants Gwen to move in. Gwen doesn't have much and soon finds what little she does have being burned away. She's against taking any charity from the Andersons, even more so after finding out how wealthy they are. The last thing she wants is for them to think she is out for their money or anything from them. Momma Anderson has a way of getting her way however and Gwen soon moves in and from there she moves into the hearts of the Anderson family, but not without a lot of resistance from one of the Andersons.

It's a sweet read really. One that will frustrate you in some parts but there is a happy ending that you definitely can predict but it doesn't take away from it at all.  Grab up a copy, you won't be disappointed.

This book is not in the erotic category at all, for those who like to steer away from that sort of thing:-)
