As her sizzling new series continues, Jennifer Chance sparks some serious combustion between a sexy biker and a corporate go-getter who’s ready to let her hair down.

New grad Anna Richardson works hard—so hard that she’s given up having a romantic life. Anna has even convinced her friends that she’s dating an amazing guy—who they’ve simply never met. But now Anna has a wedding to attend and needs to produce the hottie she’s been lying about for the past six months. Enter Jake Flynn, her infuriating, motorcycle-riding, jaw-droppingly gorgeous neighbor, who’s more than willing to fake it for a weekend. In fact, Jake won’t be satisfied until things get real.

Though Jake is only playing the role of adoring boyfriend, he’s starting to feel the heat, and judging by Anna’s sweet blush, so is she. Letting chemistry this intense go to waste would be a real shame. Soon, though, the thin line between fantasy and reality fades. Jake may not be what every buttoned-up fast-tracker wants, but he’s sure as hell what Anna needs. And if she takes a ride with him, their adventure never has to end.

TEASER REVEAL!

“Jake, the wedding would completely suck for you,” Anna protested. “My ex is a nightmare and you would hate all of my friends. You would think the whole thing is ridiculous—because it is.” He just watched her, maddeningly, his smile curving as she tried to sputter out her refusals. “You don’t want to do this. Trust me.”

“I just said I did.”

“But . . . you can’t . . . you wouldn’t . . .” Anna stopped, flustered. What was happening here? Was she actually turning down a viable date? “There’s so much you would have to memorize about Dave. There’s no way you’re going to want to do that.”

Jake just lifted his brows. “You know, for someone who’s just met me, you seem to know a lot about what I would and wouldn’t want to do.”

“I don’t! I mean, I can guess. But I just . . . can’t.” Anna swallowed. “Look, I appreciate it. If I strike out tonight, I’ll call you. How about that?”

“That sounds good.” Jake signaled to the bartender. “So I guess I should make sure you have my number, then.”

“Oh, well yes. I guess. Or, you know, I could just—” Before Anna could complete the sentence, Jake had a pen in his fingers. They were both leaning on the bar, their faces inches apart. He tipped the pen to its side, sliding its base alongside her jaw. The cool metal on her flushed skin startled her, and Anna’s gaze jumped to his. The challenge in his eyes was unmistakable.

“Hold out your hand, Anna,” he said, as if they weren’t in the middle of a crowded bar, in front of everyone.

“That’s not necessary,” she said quickly. “I have other people’s cards—you can just use—just write on one of those.”

His gaze grew hotter, more intense. “That’s no good,” he said. “You might lose it.”

Anna hesitated, then something was triggered deep inside her, and she felt a dangerous flicker of pleasure. She knew that flicker, remembered it from somewhere, even as life and work and responsibility had taught her to keep it doused, out of commission. It had been a long time since she’d let that fire burn.

But now Jake Flynn was positioned in front of her with gasoline and a blowtorch.

Someone cleared his throat beside them, and a disgruntled voice rang out. “Excuse me, I’m Gary, and your friend Lacey—”

“Take off, Gary,” Jake said without turning around. His gaze held hers. “Anna?”

Anna held out her hand, and Jake held her arm steady, cradling it with his fingers. Sensation rocketed through her at the intimate touch, intensifying sharply as she felt the smooth slide of ink on her skin. He wrote slowly, sensually, the pen tracing wickedly silken lines on the hypersensitive skin on the inside of her wrist, all the way down until he reached her palm. By the time he was finished, Anna was amazed she was still conscious. Then he glanced at her.

“Think it’s dry? Or should I blow on it?”

My Review of ROCK IT ~~

Lacey Dawes is a super fan. Not only did she lust after her favorite teen heartthrob but she scrap booked his life as they both grew older and wrote him letters to share how much she cared about him, the person... not the heartthrob. She was destined to be with him in some fashion so she worked her way into a job with IMO, the new publicity firm taking on Dante Falcone, man of Lacy's Dreams. Now it's time to put all her knowledge to good use, while trying to keep her super fandom low key.

photo 978-0-553-39095-71.jpgDante Falcone, teen heartthrob turned twenty something phenom in the rock world with a heart of gold and a love for a more subdued music style. He's looking to find a connection that will fill the hole that he just can't seem to fill with his music and the donations to the children's hospitals. Until he sees her, in the crowd at one of his shows. Drawn to her and wondering if they'll ever cross paths again fate would bring them together and he would request that she, Lacey Dawes, be the one from his new publicity firm to go with him on tour as they hatch the plan to make him a big money earner for his new sponsors.

This read started a little slow for me because in the beginning is sounded a lot like another book I read. It picked up and became one of those stories that a teen girl with a heart throb crush would look to as a guide of how she too can make her dreams come true. It was a fun read with some great moments, but some that I would have liked to see built up more than those that were. It would be nice to see another book about the 2 of them now that the tour is over.

Sargento Ultra Thin VoxBox

 photo de1b72c2-480b-49e9-a316-33bb115b6364.jpg

I was provided a chance to participate in trying out Sargento's new Ultra Thin cheese slices by Influenster.  They sent me their Sargento Ultra Thin VoxBox and I have to say I was pretty jazzed.  I am already a frequent buyer of Sargento cheese so I know they have a great product and who doesn't like free stuff right??

It was pretty funny when my box arrived in the mail. I told the boyfriend that it was on it's way and there was going to be a voucher or coupon inside and a gift. I knew this because Influenster sent out a survey first where they had some questions to see if I would be a good candidate for what they had to offer at the time. The questions were focused on cheese so I didn't know exactly what it was for but I was pretty safe thinking it would be cheese. Influenster then said what it was and that they wouldn't actually be sending cheese, it would be a voucher and there would be a gift.  So the box arrives and the boyfriend puts it in the refrigerator and forgets to tell me about it. We went out that night so I hadn't looked in the fridge until the next morning and I just laughed when I saw it. He was being nice but I already told him, no cheese will be in the box.  Anyways, I had to open it up when I found it and here's what I got:

 photo 6fe695151d4f3fbb60625c9d890f5ccd.jpg

I got a great insulated lunch bag. It's roomy, zips and it's great bright colors just in time for Spring. That's if Spring every really gets here I guess. The color in the picture there takes away from the true brightness but you get the gist. Now I didn't do such a great job on laying out the items there cause underneath the coupon for the free package of Sargento's new Ultra Thin Slices is another coupon for $1 off another package, WOOT! The card to the left is information on the VoxBox program and what to do next. Pretty much post and share on the media sites, go get your cheese, share some more, enjoy your cheese, share some more. It's all stuff I do already so no sweat!

 photo collage.jpg

Look at that, fun times.  My local grocery store had Sargento on sale so I used my free coupon and my $1 off one to get Provolone & Colby Jack cheese. YUM! Colby Jack is my favorite and I've more recently found a love for Provolone so I figured those were some good ones to go with. As you can see from the pictures there I then enjoyed some sandwiches and just the cheese all on it's own.  There are some tasks we are given so the pictures were for those. What you see is the cheese of course then the pictures and the top 2 pictures are my breakfast and lunch at work one day.  The 3 pictures below, from left to right, an open egg sandwich with Colby Jack, Provolone and salami in a flax pita, and then we were told to make a creative sandwich so I made the Ying & Yang sandwich with little dot Provolone open face sandwiches.

How's the cheese taste you ask??  Well it's great! Sargento's cheeses are always very good and full of flavor. You may be asking what is so special about these cheese slices since they already had cheese slices, right? Well these slices are ultra thin. That's it, that's all there is to it. These are about sliver, shaped square of cheese but you definitely aren't lacking on the flavor. The great thing is that because they are so thin you can fit regular cheese in any healthy eating plan cause each slice is 40-45 calories, depending on the flavor. This is a great cheese to have on hand and I decided to go back and get more! The cheeses were still 2 for $6 and I still had a Sargento recipe to make for my last task so I got some more Colby Jack and some Pepper Jack.

 photo collage-1.jpg

I chose to make the Pepper Jack Tortilla Lasagna and it was so good!  It was so easy to make and takes less than 30 minutes to cook. All you need is some Chorizo Sausage, Pinto Beans, Diced Roasted Tomatoes, Corn Tortillas and of course Sargento Ultra Thin Pepper Jack cheese. I got the diced tomatoes with garlic in them cause I love garlic but otherwise I followed the simple directions and then enjoyed! If you click on the picture or the name of the recipe you'll be brought to it so you too can enjoy.

Broken Teaser Reveal

BROKEN by Lauren Layne Teaser Reveal and Cover Spotlight

Lauren Layne, the author of the hit New Adult romance Isn’t She Lovely, and Random House’s Flirt imprint, are thrilled to share a first look at BROKEN, Lauren’s upcoming New Adult romance, and spotlight her gorgeous new cover!

BROKEN by Lauren Layne
Flirt New Adult Romance
On sale: September 2, 2014
ISBN: 978-0-553-39035-3

About the book:

Lauren Layne’s heart-wrenching novel tells the story of a girl with secrets, a guy with scars, and a love that could save them both . . . or destroy them.

When Olivia Middleton abandons the glamour of Park Avenue for a remote, coastal town in Maine, everyone assumes she’s being the kind do-gooder she’s always been. But Olivia has a secret: helping an injured war veteran reenter society isn’t about charity—it’s about penance. Only, Olivia’s client isn’t the grateful elderly man she’s expecting. Instead, he’s a brooding twenty-four-year-old who has no intention of being Olivia’s path to redemption . . . and whose smoldering gaze and forbidden touch might be her undoing.

Paul Langdon doesn’t need a mirror to show him he’s no longer the hotshot quarterback he was before the war. He knows he’s ugly—inside and out. He’ll do anything to stay in self-imposed exile, even accept his father’s ultimatum that Paul tolerate the newest caretaker for three months or lose his inheritance. But Paul doesn’t count on the beautiful twenty-two-year-old who makes him long for things that he can never have. And the more she slips past his defenses, the more keeping his distance is impossible.

Now Paul and Olivia have to decide: Will they help each other heal? Or are they forever broken?

** Teaser Reveal!**

Olivia squirms. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"I've never known a female to acquiesce that easily without a catch.

How about you hit me with it now and get it over with?”

Olivia shrugs. "Fine. I was going to say that I won't run alone, if you promise to go with me."

"No," I say, almost before she's finished her sentence.

"Why not?"

I rap my cane once against the ground. "Well, for starters, despite the fact that there are tortoises that could surpass your sorry excuse for a jog, I'm in no shape to accompany even the most pathetic of runners."

"What a handy skill you have of overloading a sentence with insults," she says as she reaches up to adjust her ponytail. "That must be helpful what with your thriving social life and all."

I thump my cane against the ground again, studying her. "Must be nice, picking on the cripple."

Olivia rolls her eyes. "Please. Your soul's more crippled than your leg."

She has no idea how right she is, and I have no intention of letting her anywhere close enough to find out. I've gotten good at shutting people out by pushing them away . . . being as nasty as possible until they reach their breaking point. But with her? It's different.

Uncaged Love

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JRBCIFI/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_img

I was warned by the writer, JJ Knight, that this is a serial & the 1st part ends in a cliff hanger but I was still not prepared. I need the next part!

The read is told from Jo's point of view. We find out quickly that she's just doing what she can to get by in life. She's out of a job & money so now she has to resort to pawning her prized, family pendant. It's the last tie she has to her family but she needs to cover her rent & have a little extra for food so she can get a little time to get back on her feet & hopefully come back for it. The shop owner does what they do & she gets enough to hold her over but he also gives her hope that it will be waiting for her cause he doesn't believe anyone would want to buy it. Jo's described as wearing a hoodie & being pretty withdrawn & we come to find out there is a history of some anger issues. She tries to detract attention from herself, especially around guys, yet she seems to draw it in still. As she's fighting for herself against a group of guys harassing her, after leaving the shop, she's saved by a golden boy on a motorcycle.

We find out a little later that golden boy is Cage McClure, son of a famous boxer & he himself is a MMA fighter. Before we find that out however, he comes back to help Jo cause the way she was fighting for herself against the guys harassing her piqued his interest. They part ways at the gym he was heading to for training and by that point Jo figures out there is something about him that she's drawn to, which surprises her. She notices the gym is hiring & grabs the paper as she heads across the way to the restaurant where her friend, Zero, works. We find out that there is a lot of hoopla around Cage at the gym but there is something in his past that seems to haunt him & is his MMA career. It also doesn't help that his dad doesn't really seem to give Cage much credit yet he is having the gym decked out with a new area for him to train for his matches & Cage isn't really enjoying all that attention.

Jo & Zero hit it off from the start & have a special relationship. When they met Jo believed Zero was a woman. She quickly found out that Zero was a male but only because those were the cards he was dealt at birth & Zero decided (s)he would shuffle those & choose her own. From then on the 2 became close friends that were there for each other through the tough times. So when Zero notices that Jo actually has some interest in a guy, for the first time since they met, s(he) encourages Jo to go for it. During the day Zero dresses as a man for the restaurant but outside of that the full Diva comes out & participates in competitions, where there is a bit of a love interest that Zero really has no interest in.

Jo ends up going back to the gym where she bumps into Cage again & they officially tell each other their names. Jo is aware of who Cage's father is but doesn't know anything about MMA or the gym for that matter, she just really needs a job & wants to be near Cage. He introduces her to Buster, the owner of the gym, & helps her get the job. There's some indication that Cage has more interest in Jo than just an attraction & that it's not something new for him. Jo finds herself actually enjoying the work at the gym & how it's toning her body. She is however uncomfortable with the fact that it gets too hot for her hoodies & the gym t-shirts are a little too snug for her liking. As time goes on Jo becomes more & more interested in the different parts of training & finds that it's a good outlet for the anger issues that she's had all her life. She gets encouragement from Cage & some of the others at the gym to continue. Cage & Jo become closer however there is another woman in the picture, Brittany. Jo finds out pretty quickly that Cage & Brittany are an item but doesn't think she'd ever have a chance with Cage herself so she deals with it. She later feels that there is some interest in her from Cage & she stumbles into some proof that Brittany is cheating on him but then she's surprised one day when she walks into the gym as Brittany & him are announcing to the press that they are engaged.

The book ends with a cage match, an awkward & somewhat confusing/shocking hint of a reveal, some paparazzi flashes & you..... probably jonesing for the next one so that, "Did I just read that right?", moment that you are still waiting to be answered can be!

I was provided with an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review.
