The Autobiography

 photo Book-iPad-wallpaper-Flying-Letters.jpg

Life, an autobiography.
Your parents, the forward to how you came to be.

The first 18 years,
the prologue to the person you become.

As the author it’s your decision;
write in advance,
live in the moment,
or do a little of both.

Do you just become a product of the past
or are you a predictor,
a creator,
or a sculptor of the future?

Your autobiography doesn’t have to fit the mold
but make it something that, you &, others look forward to.

Growing up as a young girl, Sabrina Jacobs could only dream her life would be this good. She has a successful career, a famous sexy husband, two children, a house in an affluent Westchester suburb and a shoe collection worthy of a magazine spread. Too bad it’s all a fa├žade.

It has been almost a year since her husband admitted he had an affair with a younger and bouncier co-worker. Follow Sabrina as she tries to rein in her out-of-control life by kicking her husband out on his rear, chucking her career and even firing her too-cute-for-the-job nanny. But how will she survive as a stay-at-home mom in the land of designer clothes, designer kids’ parties and designer babies? Hmm… maybe the hunky young French teacher, who has been flirting shamelessly with Sabrina, is just what she needs to take her mind off her problems. Well, not if her husband has something to say about it. Will Sabrina be able to forgive and still be true to herself?
Author Biography

A native New Yorker, K.M. Jackson had two dreams for what she wanted to be when she “grew up”: 1. a fashion designer and 2. a writer.

After graduating from high school, she pursued her first dream and studied fashion design at New York’s FIT. She then spent ten years designing for various New York houses. But after years of jugging the oh-so-glam world of mid-market fashion along with being a mother of twins, K.M. took the leap of faith and decided to pursue her other long held dream of being a writer.

She currently lives in a suburb of New York with her husband, teen twins, and her precocious terrier named Jack who keeps them keeps her on her toes.

I give Sean a weak smile and pull him towards me. I kiss him deeply. And I can feel the immediate surprise course though his body. But the surprise doesn’t stop him and it doesn’t take much to get him going. He instantly falls into action, running his large hands up and down my back. Kissing my neck then trailing his tongue down toward my breasts.

I let my mind drift as his mouth wanders. Off to the past. To the time when Sean used to woo me by playing my favorite songs for hours on end. The lyrics talking about being with me until the end of time flow through my memory as Sean continues his languid journey stopping at all the places he knows too well to get just the desired response from me. He kisses and I shift. He licks and I sigh. He strokes and I arch. All the while my body goes from sensation to sensation while my mind is at war going from memory to memory. Pleasure to pain. Opening doors to rooms that I don’t want to see. Images that I’m too afraid to face.

“Baby, where are you?”

I look up. Surprised to see Sean above me. Eyes filled with worry and questions. A part of me wants to close my own eyes and turn away, but I don’t. I face him straight on. “I’m here. Right here.” I give him a smile then angle up to kiss him.

Going deep putting my hand between our bodies and guiding him to my center. He fills me and I let my eyes close. Shutting one door and opening another. Letting him in fully and completely. Mind on the future.

I Ain't Lying!

 photo liar_liar_hearts_on_fire_72dpi_200x300.jpg

What a fun read, that's all I think when I read Jennifer Zane's books!

I was drawn in by Gnome on the Range simply because, at the time, it had a big old garden gnome on it's cover & I love garden gnomes! I had to ask myself, "How is a garden gnome gonna be wrapped into a romance?" In order to find out I just had to read it! I loved it & moved onto Plumb Crazy, Mischief Under the Mistletoe & now Liar, Liar Hearts on Fire.

Believe it or not, there is a gnome, or 2, in all 4 of the books and there's a great character by the name of Goldie who is in all of them. These books are romance with a little mystery and a lot of humor... just overall fun. In this read we get to know Violet better as she travels to Alaska to pretend to be her high school love's girlfriend. She's been carrying a torch for him ever since they had their fling at the end of high school and now she's throwing caution to the wind to see if she can make something more out of pretending. We get to meet a cast of out of the ordinary characters and there are some pretty steamy scenes. Of course there is a mystery, or 2, involved and there's even some little twists & turns but you'll just have to read it to find out about all that.

Oh & the gnome makes an appearance but not a big one, he's on vacation:-) I suggest you read this one for a little enjoyment & while you're at it read the other 3 too! They are written to be stand alones but they all work together and you'll be missing out on the fun if you don't check them all out!.

If you check out her website she is giving away free copies of Liar Liar so sign up now!! Click on any of the book images or her name up above & you'll be brought to her website. Good Luck!

I've Stepped Back From the Edge

As I was thinking of my positive thoughts for today's Jar of Happiness deposit and listening to some music all without any chaotic interruptions, I was reminded how very grateful I am to have my house back to myself! Well, it's not exactly myself since since I have pets and a boyfriend that share the space but I consider them "home" so they things are good.

Not quite so long ago I had a house full of people and things were rough. Especially in the winter when we experience below frigid temperatures because then everyone & all of their friends would be cooped up under my roof and I would be driven crazy!  As I was thinking about all the arguments & fights there were over the years, because those living under my roof couldn't understand that it was my roof & they couldn't just invite anyone to take up squatters rights along with them, Room to Breath by Linkin Park came up on the iPod & I thought... "I needed this song at my fingertips back then to blast on repeat!"  It's perfect. The right words, the perfect tone, just downright excellent! Here are the lyrics:

I cannot take this anymore, I'm saying everything I've said before
All these words, they make no sense, I find bliss in ignorance
Less I hear, the less you'll say, you'll find that out anyway

Just like before

Everything you say to me

Takes me one step closer to the edge, I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
'Cause I'm one step closer to the edge, I'm about to break

I find the answers aren't so clear, wish I could find a way to disappear

All these thoughts, they make no sense, I find bliss in ignorance
Nothing seems to go away over and over again

Just like before

Everything you say to me

Takes me one step closer to the edge and I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
'Cause I'm one step closer to the edge, I'm about to break

Everything you say to me

Takes me one step closer to the edge and I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
'Cause I'm one step closer to the edge and I'm about to..... break

Shut up when I'm talking to you

Shut up,
shut up, shut up

Shut up when I'm talking to you

Shut up,
shut up, shut up

Shut up

I’m about to break

Everything you say to me

Takes me one step closer to the edge and I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
'Cause I'm one step closer to the edge, I'm about to break

Everything you say to me

Takes me one step closer to the edge and I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
'Cause I'm one step closer to the edge and I'm about to..... break

Gotta love Linkin Park! It was a little cathartic moment as I had to hit repeat a few times & sing along.... LOL. Hey, I'm in the house with just the pets & they make me listen to their barking & such in the mornings so they can listen to my singing one & a while, even if it was more shouting than singing;-)

Yep, definitely happier with my home a little less emptier and I've stepped back from the edge so I'm no longer about to break. I can say that it is true, "What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger!"

Jar of Happiness

 photo 1526853_10201281439621608_1150949338_n.jpg

With the start of a new year comes many resolutions right? Well, I've set some little goals for myself but I'm not really calling them resolutions, it's just that it's nice to start them fresh with a new year is all.  The picture above shows what will be known as my jar of happiness. That's right, jar of happiness! You see there inside? It's my first piece of happiness from the 1st day of the new year.

I first got this idea a few weeks ago on Facebook when a site called Mindful Ireland posted this:

 photo 936056_10152120241426617_801424365_n.jpg

Then I came across a blog post called Bottle Up Your Daily Happiness! and I decided that I just needed to do this for the year. It helps with my goal of always finding the good in things, cause really... who wants to focus on all the bad stuff right?? I came up with a little mantra for it even & it goes like this:

"Keep your daily focus in life more on the good things that happen rather than the bad & so much more fun will ultimately be had."

I think more people should adopt it so go ahead, feel free to steal it, I won't mind a bit! So my jar of happiness will be where I sit down each day to write down whatever it is that is positive for the day. Whether it made me smile, laugh, cry (What? Crying is good sometimes!), be grateful, be thankful, made me dream, made me wish... etc. You get the drift right?  It's simple really, just whatever I want to write. Then at the end of the year I'll delve in & open all the little notes like the gifts that they are! I haven't quite decided what I'll do with them then, you know... other than enjoy them & think back to each of those days & the little pieces of happiness that I found back then.

It's an easy concept that can be fun for one and all so grab a jar & some fun paper & make yourself, or the family, one so you too can focus on the good things in life and recall a little bit of everyday!

I also set my reading goal for the year today, which is 250 books, and a friend posted the following picture which sort of fit the theme of reading, focusing on the good, writing and a new year & all so I'll end the blog with this final visual thought:

Starting off 2014

As I finish up reflecting on the past year & preparing some goals for the oncoming year I came upon this blog post on Goodreads by Rebecca Donovan, one of my favorite authors. I wanted to share it through several medias so that not only can I find it easily when I need to be reminded but so hopefully others will see it & be inspired, find it insightful or just enjoy it. I myself still have some goals & such for 2014 but I will be moving forward keeping this in mind.

This is the time of year when people reflect upon what has happened and what will be.

But I’d rather reflect upon the now. The moment I’m living in this very second. And this second, for me, is all about honesty.

As real and pure as honesty is, it’s also hard
It takes courage and strength to be honest with who you are; to look in the mirror and respect the person looking back at you. There are days that person looks like a stranger. Someone you’ve never met before. Someone you don’t want to know. But every day, that person is you. And every day, you should challenge that person to be better

Better than the day before. Better than the hour before. Better than the second before.

Because you can… you are… better. Look. Can’t you see it?

It may take even more courage and strength to look the person you love and care about in the eye, with the risk of losing them, and want them to want more, from this life. You can’t make them. You can only want it for them.

Because the truth… the honest truth… won’t set them free. Only they can. And that realization may hurt, but the honesty you share might actually save them.

I will always strive to be better –to smile at the reflection looking back at me with acceptance. I love with all that I am. I protect with every ounce of my being. I give until there’s nothing left. And I cannot live without being honest… even if that leaves me with a loss.

I could sit here and reflect upon my amazing moments of 2013… and there have been many. Or I could be excited for what is to come in 2014, because it will be the most life-altering year yet. But I’d rather live in the moment I’m in.

I know there is no better day than the one I’m living… until tomorrow.

Rebecca Donovan is the author of The Breathing series, it's an awesome trilogy & you can check it out on her website, on Goodreads & Amazon... just to name a few places. Definitely check her out!
