Necessary Neurosis

Jenny Matlock

Necessary neurosis
at least not halitosis
it may seem precocious
but it's my diagnosis.

I live it everyday
and I like it that way
keeps the doldrums away
and can be fun, hooray!

Not to be confused
with a sense of humor unused
or a brain that's bruised
one must usually be amused.

It's crazy but it's good
there's a brain under the hood
and it may be misunderstood
but at least it's not wood.

Say it with me now
it's nothing like mad cow
others may raise a brow
it's necessary neurosis, ciao!

Necessary neurosis...I like that! I have it but not in such a cleverly presented way.

What a nifty little neurotic ditty!

Loved this!

My husband often tells people he has 'mad cow' and tries to blame his forgetfullness on it.

I'm not buying.

But, Lord, he keeps trying to sell it to me anyway!

Thanks for the smile.
